Dr. John Scoville
Music Department

Pianist John Scoville, DMA, enjoys a musical life that blends his passions for performing, collaborating, and teaching.  After doctoral studies in piano performance with Robert Koenig at the University of California, Santa Barbara, he has returned to Madison and become embedded in its vibrant musical community.  He divides his time between teaching piano, collaborating with and coaching instrumentalists and singers, and serving as organist-pianist at McFarland Lutheran Church.
Dr. Scoville has held positions with Interlochen Arts Camp, Opera Santa Barbara, Ojai Youth Opera, San Miguel Institute of Bel Canto, and Ensemble Theatre Company and has worked locally with UW-Madison, Children’s Theater of Madison, Middleton High School, De Forest Area High School, and other schools and ensembles.  He has performed in master classes for Tara Helen O’Connor, Denis Bouriakov, Gil Shaham, and Anne Epperson and has performed in recital with emerging artists Julie Davies, soprano, and flutist Taylor Irelan.  Dr. John is thrilled to be joining the SCA family and be able to work with its talented students!
