Cambria Metzinger is a versatile mezzo-soprano whose career spans opera, musical theatre, jazz, and contemporary styles. Most recently, Cambria completed a two-year residency as a Resident Artist with Shreveport Opera (2024–2026), where she performed as Zerlina in Don Giovanni, Musetta in La Bohème, Mercedes in Carmen, and Anna in The Seven Deadly Sins. Additional performance credits include San Diego Opera, Opera Santa Barbara as a Chrisman Studio Artist, Pacific Lyric Opera, the Shreveport Symphony, and Musica Vitale. An active crossover artist, she performed as Elle Woods in the Santa Barbara Theater Group’s production of Legally Blonde.
Cambria holds a Master of Music in Vocal Performance from the San Francisco Conservatory of Music and a Bachelor of Music in Vocal Performance from San Diego State University. She has received recognition from the Santa Barbara Music Club and the San Francisco Conservatory of Music, and in 2025 was named a semi-finalist for the Mary Jacobs Singer of the Year Competition.
Alongside her performing career, Cambria has maintained a private voice studio since 2019, teaching students of all ages and experience levels in classical, musical theatre, and contemporary styles. Her educational experience includes serving as a Voice Instructor at Santa Barbara City College, Music Director for Stage Left Productions, and a teaching artist with both Shreveport Opera and Opera Santa Barbara’s outreach programs.
Cambria’s teaching philosophy centers on creating a supportive and encouraging environment where students feel comfortable exploring their voices and building confidence in their individual artistry. Her approach emphasizes healthy, efficient vocal technique while drawing from her classical training and professional experience across a variety of musical styles. She believes every student’s goals are different and works to tailor lessons to each singer’s individual needs, whether they are preparing for auditions, performances, or simply singing for the joy of it.
