Heidi Blanc-Blum holds a Bachelor of Arts in Music from DePaul University, where she also completed graduate coursework in musicology and music education. She has over a decade of teaching experience and offers advanced instruction in bassoon, oboe, voice, piano, and beginner woodwinds, brass, and string instruments.
Heidi has performed with a wide variety of ensembles, including choral groups, symphony orchestras, chamber ensembles, concert bands, pit orchestras, and liturgical music settings. She currently sings alto with the Madison Philharmonic Chorus. She also brings deep knowledge of music theory and history to her teaching, along with specialized expertise in double reed pedagogy and custom reed-making.
With a background in both classical and contemporary styles, Heidi brings a personalized and supportive approach to each student, helping them grow in skill, confidence, and creativity.
