Catherine Bartels Cogil

Originally from Clinton, Iowa, Catherine began her dance training at the age of 3 under the direction of Linda Luckstead at Carousel School of Dance. From the age of 13-22 she was a soloist with the Gateway Contemporary Ballet Company performing as Alice in Alice in Wonderland, Princess Aurora and the Diamond Fairy in Sleeping Beauty, and a step-sister and Lilac Fairy in Cinderella. She received a ballet scholarship from Fhinis Jhung and David Howard in NYC and attended Philadelphia College of Performing Arts.
Catherine was the owner and Artistic Director of Catherine’s Center of Dance in Scottsdale, AZ from 1995-2009. She has also choreographed for high school musicals and the “Make a Wish Ball”. She is a guest choreographer for the Gateway Contemporary Ballet Company in Iowa. Catherine has participated in and won a Ballroom and Latin dance competition at a bronze level.  Miss Catherine has taken from teachers such as Joanna Kneeland, Greg Bagley, Randall Newsome, Gelsey Kirkland, Victoria Vittum, and Randy Duncan.  She has produced award winning choreography for the SCA Company.  She has four children and 5 grandchildren and is very excited to bring her love for dance and teaching to the Stoughton Center for the Arts.
